Letter from a Small Business

Letter from a Small Business

It was a Tuesday morning. I sat looking out of the office window, coffee in hand, and thinking about one of many conversations that I had recently had about the problems of  " small businesses".

It wasn't the problem itself that was causing consternation, it was more the problem of how I could present it to readers without it becoming dry and boring. This is often the fate of even highly important business material.

My thoughts revolved around the ways that I had received information in the past and especially the format used to cloak them with both interest and entertainment.

The letter

The technique that appeared to best fulfill all requirements was, that in future I would provide an audio letter. A letter from a small business owner recounting their topic, it's ramifications, the problems it posed and how they could be best resolved. I had to admit that on some occasions it would be ending without any acceptable solution. For as we all know not all problems that we face can be concluded to our satisfaction.

Why am I writing this in my blog ?

Well that at least is simple. From now on I will be adding regular MP3 format audio letters at frequent intervals. These will cover a wide range of topics affecting all businesses but especially small or start-up enterprises.

I hope that you will follow these and that you will find them interesting and may be sufficiently so that you will record you own comments and opinions.

I look forward to making contact orally in the near future.

RTI the new PAYE - it's quiet out there

The introduction of the new RTI scheme in April 2013 will mean that businesses will have to electronically report all payments as they are made.
Yes, if you pay weekly you will be sending of returns every week either when the payment is made or before.
This should be great fun for the large number of small businesses where this task falls to the owner.
From a government committed to reducing red - tape and simplifying the tasks which UK small business must undertake this looks like a very strange way to achieve this.
What is more surprising is the lack of any protest.  Are all you small businesses really happy about this?
If not lets here you.

How will this change impact on YOU ?

More Claims Fortunes Around the Corner

PPI Claims are Old Hat - Bring out the next growth Business

It started with Endowment Motgage claims and then moved on to PPI claims but with so many companies relying on this type of refund claim  for their bread and butter, what will be the next target.
Obviously I don't know, but, I can think of one area that I'd like to see in the claim companies sights and it's......

SERPs misselling claims.

As a bit of an oldie I paid large amounts into SERPs ( State Earnings Related Pensions ) and much of it when I was on a high salary. Will I ever see the benefit ? Well that is looking less and less likely.

If I do survive the stress and strain of the current financial climate, which is doing anything but warm up, it is unlikely that the Government will be in a position to  pay me anything like the amount that I had been led to expect.

Therefore   I have been mis-sold. I should , if the government are ethical be able to get a refund and I don't doubt that an army of new businesses will spring up to help me.

So Don't delay.
